Hematology Analyzer also popularly known as CBC Analyzer is an automated biomedical instrument used in laboratories to count and analyse the solid components of blood, such as red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. It counts the no of cells and provides morphological information in the form of indices which are useful for screening, diagnosis, and monitoring of many disease conditions.

3 Part Hematology analyzer provides analysis of WBC in 3 Part, i.e. Lymphocyte, Mix Population and Granulocyte. Along with that it provides detailed information about RBC & Platelets. In case of 5 Part it enumerates all 5 Populations of WBC and provide detailed information for RBC & Platelets.

Unikon 5 is 5 Part differential Hematology Analyser that provides enumeration of all 5 types of WBC and provides information about RBC & Platelets.

Unikon 5 Provide reportable results for 25 CBC Parameters with 3 Histograms and 3 scattergrams. Alongside Unikon 5 also provide screening result for 10 Parameters as Research Use Only (RUO) parameters.

Parameter Results under Reportable Parameter are the one which can be directly reported as results from the 5 PDA, where as RUO parameters are the one which are just screening results that can not be reported directly.

Unikon 5 can provide results for 60 Sample in an Hour.

It has Large 10.4-inch TFT Touch Screen Display.

Unikon 5 can store 1,50,000 Patient results along with Histograms and scattergrams.

It has built-in Touch Screen through which technician can operate the instrument. However, if needed it can be connected to USB Key Pad or Mouse for Operational interfacing, since it has 4 USB Ports.

Unikon 5 is supplied with mini USB printer, however it can be connected to external USB Base Laser printer to avail the print of results.

Unikon 5 uses 3D Laser Scatter technology using chemical dye and Flow Cytometry Technology that provides accuracy & Precision of counting each type of WBC. Moreover, it has an independent channel with optical counting method that ensures precise counting of Basophil cells. For RBC & Platelet it uses unique Impedance counting principle together with digital sheath flow technology that generates more accuracy for indices like RDW. The smallest aperture size in RBC/PLT chamber ensures perfect counting of Platelets irrespective of their sizes.

There are 3 main reagents used for routine counting in Unikon 5. Diluent, LH Lyse and differential Lyse. Additionally, as part of routine daily maintenance Probe cleaner is to be used every day while closing the instrument.

Whole Blood and capillary Blood can be used for testing on Unikon 5. For capillary Blood sample, it can be run directly using unique Capillary WB Mode or it can also be analyzed using pre-diluted mode available in Unikon 5.

Abnormal count results are displayed on the screen and it also provide detailed alphabetical flags for such results which makes pre-diagnosis simpler and easier by the operator.

Yes Unikon 5 has built-in QC program generating L-J chart using Westgard Rules.

Yes Unikon 5 Offers Bi-directional LIS facility there by it makes the connectivity simpler and easier with LIS.

For routine maintenance it has software driven facility, in which just by double clicking the function in maintenance window, instrument will automatically perform the maintenance. It has ZAP Flush function as well which will help in removing stubbornly blocked aperture due to clogs in sample.
