Unikon GH+ is Gold Standard HPLC Based HbA1c Analyser.

It is specific Glycated Hemoglobin which is a form of Hemoglobin that is measured primarily to identify the average Plasma glucose concentration over a prolonged period, especially for the monitoring of DM and also for the diagnosis of same.

It is a specific glycated hemoglobin, which reflects average blood glucose concentration during previous 8 to 12 weeks. It is directly related to risk of diabetic complications.

High Performance Liquid Chromatography. It is a separation Technology which is used in clinical laboratories for separating and quantifying variety of clinically significant analytes from Biological samples.

High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) is the gold standard for measuring HbA1c primarily due to its superior accuracy, specificity, and reliability. It provides a precise measurement by separating HbA1c from other hemoglobin variants and interfering substances, which other methods may fail to distinguish.

Based on the Molecular Charges and Weight or based on Molecular structures the Analyte of interest will be separated and quantified by using HPLC method.

It is a graphical presentation of analyte response when it passes through the detector system. Using this response based on time and area covered by each separated molecule the analyte concentration is reported by the software.

The major steps of operation for UNIKON GH+ involves Hemolysis, followed by Filtration, followed by column base separation, Elution and detection.

Pressure Pump: Regulates the flow of Liquid at a uniform speed and stable pressure for effective separation outcome. Column: We are using High Pressure Columns specially designed with Microspheres having uniform size of 5.5 µm that ensures effective separation at a sustainable low pressure. The column has stable life span at 4 to 30° C of approximately 12 Months.

1200 Test is the life of column.

Eluent A: This is Na+ solution used to elute different molecules of Hb from the sample. Eluent B: This is Na+++ solution used to elute different molecules of Hb from the sample. Lysing Solution: Used for Lysing RBC to release Hb.

Once pack of 100 Test of Eluent A/Eluent B & Lysing solution are loaded on the instrument it is stable for use within 3 months’ time.

The calibration is done using 2 level Calibrators provided with the UNIKON GH+ Reagents. The calibration frequency is every 400 Test.

HbA1a, HbA1b, LA1c, HbF, HBA0 are reported along with HbA1c by our UNIKON GH+
